“We have completed several projects with the Talisman high-definition survey team that involved existing, and in some cases historic, buildings. The Talisman team has consistently delivered high-quality scans and Revit Models, allowing us to coordinate the new design and the existing conditions with a high level of accuracy and confidence that otherwise would not be possible. Their services saved time in design and construction and allowed us to mitigate unforeseen conditions we typically encounter with the existing buildings .”

Groundbreaking News from Downtown Ogden ✨🎉

Last Friday marked a moment as we celebrated the groundbreaking of the much-anticipated Wonderblock project! This unique, mixed-use development, a public/private venture with Ogden City and J. Fisher Companies, is set to redefine downtown Ogden - blending residential spaces, retail, office services, food and beverage outlets, and hospitality into a vibrant community hub.

Designed with the vision of the "Make Ogden" Downtown Master Plan, Wonderblock is not just a development; it`s a leap towards creating a thriving, interconnected downtown. The goal is to craft a distinctive sense of place that beckons visitors from across the region, fostering special events and daily activities in our stunning public spaces. As someone who grew up in Ogden and just moved back, I can attest to how important this project is for the community and am so excited about it!

We`re incredibly proud to be part of this transformative journey. Wonderblock is more than just buildings; it`s about community, heritage, and a bright future for Ogden.

Divided by floors, united by facts ✨

Last week`s Core Values Focus on `Teamwork` at TCC turned into an epic battle of wits, courtesy of teambuilding.com and our hilarious hosts, Kari and Chris. Between the upstairs strategists to the downstairs masterminds, our virtual trivia hour proved that teamwork isn`t just about working together - it`s about friendly rivalry and a lot of LOLs! 😂

🏆Upstairs vs Downstairs: The rivalry begins... but let`s not forget, in the world of civil engineering and land surveying, every answer counts! #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #TeamworkDoesntSeemWork #WeDemandARematch

🚴‍♂️ Big News from the BMX World! 🚴‍♂️

Our very own team member @coryfranzwa has achieved a remarkable victory in one of the most prestigious BMX events in the country.

After a year of intense competition and dedication, Cory made us proud at the "Grands" in Tulsa, Oklahoma over Thanksgiving break.

Competing in the age 26-35 Expert class, he was up against 54 other skilled competitors. The journey wasn`t easy, with multiple rounds stretching over several days, including qualifying laps, quarter and semi mains, all leading up to the main event. But it was worth the effort! Cory emerged as the CHAMPION in his class! 🏆

Let`s break down these amazing achievements:

National Age Group (NAG #1): Ranked #1 in the country among all 26-35 year-olds. 🥇

National #19: An impressive 19th rank overall among all amateur boy riders in the country, across all age groups. 🌟

Race Of Champions (ROC#1): Cory also conquered the ROC, a prestigious race featuring top riders from various states. This win allows him to sport the coveted red plate with a black #1 for the upcoming race year. 💯

This is more than just a win; it`s a testament to hard work, resilience, and true passion for BMX. We`re beyond proud to have such talent and dedication in our team.

Congratulations to Cory on these phenomenal achievements! Your hard work and determination are an inspiration to us all.

Here`s to many more victories and inspiring moments on the track! 🚴‍♂️💨

Another recent Talisman team addition! Welcome Kenny, our newest Field Survey Tech whose past as a groundskeeper and concrete form carpenter brings a robust blend of nature and structure to our team. With a BA in Asian History and an Associate`s in Chinese language, he`s as scholarly as he is hands-on. Kenny thrives on the underground mysteries of his job, delighting in the real-life puzzle of what lies beneath our feet.

Kenny`s life is a tapestry of adventure and unique experiences, from modeling in China (wow!) to skydiving. If he could, he`d be a mad scientist inventing tools to remove lead from the atmosphere, but for now, he`s our go-to guy in a zombie apocalypse, ready with the truck and all its stuff. In Kenny`s dream movie role, he`d be the guy in an old western who takes a dramatic tumble from the balcony—because who doesn`t love a grand exit?

Welcome aboard, pardner!

Repost @wenkassociates - We`re proud and excited to be on this SLC Green Team! 🌳
.
Salt Lake City residents have expressed the desire for more trails, parks, and green spaces in multiple city plans, studies, and surveys over recent years. As more people call downtown home, the need for improved public green spaces and shade increases, as does the need for more comfortable transportation options for short trips without a car. Salt Lake City is exploring a concept to improve the quality of life for people living, working, and traveling downtown by adapting the existing street space to include more trees, shade, and comfortable options for a variety of transportation choices. Green spaces also provide critical ecosystem services and contribute to a more resilient city by managing stormwater, reducing the heat island, and improving air quality.

Wenk Associates is leading a multidisciplinary team to provide community engagement, planning and design services for the SLC Green Loop project. The full extent of the Green Loop is approximately 5.5 miles long and covers 32-36 blocks. It will loop along the rights-of-ways of 200 East, 900 South, 500 West and North Temple. The project will enhance the physical, mental, and social health of urban residents, improve transportation choices for residents and visitors, and spur sustainable growth.

Meet Jaden, our newest team member who traded his Landscape Architecture designs for the thrill of land surveying. He’s all about the ever-changing views, from city skylines to mountain meadows. For him, each new project is like a mini-adventure that contributes to making the world a better place.

When he’s not out surveying, Jaden is a seafood aficionado and yoga enthusiast. He claims that a daily dose of fresh fried fish and a couple of yoga sessions a week keep him agile and ready for whatever the job throws his way. We’re thrilled to have such a multifaceted talent on board! Welcome, Jaden!
